This story, written and directed by Pappi Corsicato, offers a paradoxical reinterpretation of the concept of taste. A couple of Neapolitan parvenus, Gemma (Iaia Forte) and Tony (Ennio Fantastichini), decide to organise a party for their début in society. During the evening, to which “la crème” of the city is invited, we see a Naples that continually questions conventional rules on aesthetics and ethics, creating continual conflicts regarding the dividing line between elegance and ostentation. The mood of the story is absolutely ironic and sensational: from the furnishings to the props, from the costumes to the music. A Good Taste versus Poor Taste diatribe full of playful contrasts and with a fitting finale that reveals the lethal weapon of those who do not know the meaning of real class.
